Workshop Details

"I believe that we are all Earth people, some are just more disconnected than others. As a Traditional Custodian, it is my responsibility to share my connection to this Country and teach others how to respect and care for it, to heal it and let it heal us. So that is why I created Wayapa."

- Jamie Marloo Thomas, Co-founder of Wayapa®

This workshop offers a space to reconnect with the natural world through our moving bodies.

Wayapa® is an earth connection modality based on the wisdom of Australia’s First Peoples. Wayapa® uses guided movement, storytelling and deep listening meditation to activate our inner steward for holistic wellbeing. The practice uses a flowing sequence of movements that reflect 14 core elements in the Australian landscape. As participants move thorough each element, the practice becomes a sacred embodied ritual in deep listening and connection to the earth, spirit and self.

Wayapa® was developed by Jamie Marloo Thomas, a Peek Whurrung Gunditjmara and GunnaiKurnai senior knowledge holder, and his partner Sara Jones. Thus, the practice is based on Indigenous philosophies of wellbeing that focus on connecting to and healing the land as the starting point for healing ourselves. Each workshop uniquely shares and teaches this wisdom that sustained the oldest living culture on Earth for over 80,000 years. It is the only known certified Indigenous Wellness modality with the International Institute for Complementary Therapists.

Brittany is incredibly honoured to offer this with full permission from Jamie and his elders to share its message, acknowledging its great importance during these transitional times.

Come join us as we move, listen and connect with nature together - remembering our bodies are the most potent tool for expressing, healing and celebrating our relationship with the Earth.

No dance or movement experience necessary - all welcome.
